Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays

Program Structure: 

Classroom Lessons: Thursdays 6:00-8:00pm 

Farm Visits: Wednesdays and Fridays 6:00-8:00pm

Transportation can be provided

           Planning and Preparation

           Seed Starting

           Selecting Varieties

           Farm Tools and Equipment

           Working With Your Soil - Tillage

           Irrigation

           Nutrient Management

           Crop Rotation

           Composting

           Weed Control

           Harvest and Storage

           Business Training for Success

Additional Information:

*Tuition-free!

 

*Transportation to and from field visits will be offered.

​

*$500 stipend for 80% attendance; $250 for 50% attendance

​

*Build meaningful connections with local partner farms.

 

*Develop marketable skills in agriculture, specific to Interior Alaska.

 

*Certificate awarded on behalf of the Fairbanks Soil and Water Conservation District, upon completion of the course.

 

*Participants must reside in the Fairbanks North Star Borough.
